With the faces of Robert Downey, Jr. and Sam Jackson seemingly everywhere these days it’s clear that The Avengers’ much-anticipated release date is fast approaching. As with any big budget summer blockbuster, Marvel’s latest big screen foray has cross-promotions and sponsorships galore – but what if someone took out middle man and just gave us an ultimate team of advertising heroes. Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve done just that with The Advengers: Advertising’s Mightiest Spokespersons
Nick Fury – Most Interesting Man in the World, Dos Equis
The poise and signature look of these two distinguished characters make them excellent leaders for their respective groups. Pair Fury and his combat skills with The Most Interesting Man in the World and his worldwide travel experience and you’d have one of the coolest, unshakable characters/spokepersons of all time.
Iron Man – Isaiah Mustafa, Old Spice
He’s flashy, confident and gets a lot of publicity. While he may not be the longest tenured of the group, Tony Stark and Old Spice’s Isaiah Mustafa both use flash, smooth talking and an overflowing coolness that borders on cockiness to win over fans.
Captain America – Denis Haysbert, Allstate
Haysbert’s stoic on-screen presence and booming voice command the same attention as Captain America and his shield. A true leader, let’s not forget Haysbert’s patriotic turn as President Palmer in 24 when comparing the two heroes.
Thor – Charles Barkley, Weight Watchers
Thor and the (formerly) Round Mound of Rebound are living legends, having been around much longer than their fellow heroes. But while both are known to have a mean streak, on the court or in Asgard, these two maintain a jovial reputation.
The Hulk – Gecko, Geico
One is mean and green, the other is fairly lean and green…and British or Australian or something. But when the Hulk isn’t smashing things, he’s mild-mannered, brilliant scientist Bruce Banner. Banner, like the Geico Gecko, has a quick tongue and wealth of knowledge he’s more than eager to share with the world.
